6. New Japan Pro Wrestling Now Own Jushin 'Thunder' Liger Character

Recently appearing in WWE's NXT, Jushin 'Thunder' Liger is one of the most beloved Junior Heavyweight wrestlers the world over. Since the mid-1980's, he has been regarded as the benchmark for the style he presents. The man's trademark red and white outfit is as big a part of his act as his actual wrestling moves. Stunningly, the Jushin Liger name doesn't belong to him. New Japan Pro Wrestling recently acquired rights to the moniker for merchandise purposes. Originally, Jushin Liger was a comic book character in the Orient during the 1970's. The creator of the character, Go Nagai was the one who scooped up money related to the image rights. Now, New Japan hold the key to Liger's merchandise kingdom, something they surely plan on using to their advantage. To this day, Liger is still one of the most cherished and sought after acts in Japan. His magnificent career history has made him an in demand performer all over the globe. New Japan must be rubbing their hands in glee, but it's unclear whether or not they've come to an agreement with the wrestler himself over the deal.
