8. D€™Angelo Dinero Spoke With WWE About Commentary Gig

In early-2013, 'The Pope' D'Angelo Dinero revealed that his contract with TNA had come to an end. Not interested in signing an extension, Dinero instead worked on the independent scene, mainly for Ohio Valley Wrestling. He eventually returned to TNA in June, 2015, primarily to work as an announcer on Impact Wrestling. This week during an interview with WrestlingInc.com, the artist formerly known in WWE as Elijah Burke interestingly stated that he nearly took his vocal talents elsewhere. According to the man himself, Dinero had previously entered talks with WWE about working as a commentator for them instead of TNA, but any proposed deal eventually fell through. It's unclear whether or not Dinero would have worked on Monday Night Raw, Smackdown or in any other capacity. Even so, it's intriguing to imagine what it would have been like to have the outspoken star back on WWE television. In TNA, he has formed a decent announce duo with Josh Mathews, and is exploring the chance to wrestle more often again.
