There are fans who have reservations over the fact Chris Jericho has pinned AJ Styles on WWE television. The former TNA star has only been part of the company for a month or so now, and many believed he should have been given a long unbeaten streak in the promotion. As it stands, he defeated Jericho at Fastlane to win their series 2-1. Going back to the Royal Rumble in January, AJ snatched the opportunity to act as a surprise entrant in the annual 30-man match. Entering third, he received a rapturous welcome to the WWE system by fans in attendance. Social media also went nuts, and the general feeling was that Styles had been handed a respectable debut by management. Speaking to Michael Cole for WWE's official website, the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion in NJPW stated that he was worried before the Rumble that WWE fans may not know who he was. To any hardcore fan of the industry, that seems preposterous, but it's fascinating to learn that AJ himself was pensive about what casual enthusiasts may think of him.
