2. Batista Used Sunglasses To Hide His Fear Of Public Speaking

A WWE return in 2014 didn't end happily for 'The Animal' Batista. Fans didn't exactly jump for joy when he won the Royal Rumble, calling loudly for Daniel Bryan instead and completely overlooking Batista's involvement in the main event picture at WrestleMania XXX. Batista has never hidden the fact that this didn't sit well with him.

During an interview with The Writer's Room, the former WWE performer and current Hollywood star decided to peel back the curtain a little more on his in-ring career. Astonishingly, there's a secret reason why Batista decided to start wearing sunglasses during many of his promo segments in the middle of the ring.

Behind the scenes in front of a handful of people, he didn't have the same issues, but Batista has had a long-standing fear of public speaking. Therefore, cutting promos in front of thousands of people in an arena terrified him, and it showed in his eyes.

That's where the sunglasses came in handy because he could mask his fears from those watching. In turn, this gave Batista more confidence to simply get on with his verbal performance.
