Chris Amann got a lot of bad press when he allegedly disregarded the pain that CM Punk was feeling prior to his departure. That pain would turn out to be a very serious staph infection, which Punk only found out from going to another doctor for a second opinion. The allegation that the infection couldve been fatal only amplifies the supposed neglect that WWEs Head Doctor demonstrated in this case. While the WWEs medical staff does have a lot of work in dealing with many Superstars and their various injuries, this issue mustve certainly hurt WWEs reputation as an employer. Its bad enough that, as independent contractors, they dont get company insurance. But Vince mustve been extra angry when his companys top doctor made such a mistake. All the videos that surfaced after NXT Evolution and TLC, which showed the medical staff taking care of all injuries, big and small, appear to be damage control caused by Dr. Amanns mistake when dealing with CM Punk. Either way, Dr. Amann must be very stressed out these days, dealing with an angry Vince breathing down his neck.
