10 WWE Superstars Who Are Failing (But Shouldn't Be)

7. Curtis Axel

The growing pains of being the son of a WWE Hall of Famer continue to make their presence felt in the career of Joe Hennig, better known to WWE fans today as Curtis Axel. Surviving the horrendous NXT moniker of €œMichael McGillicutty€ went a long way in proving that the son of Mr. Perfect has both staying power and potential and he was eventually paired up with Paul Heyman and rechristened €œCurtis Axel.€ However, his stint as a €œPaul Heyman Guy€ was short-lived and Axel can now be found swapping hot and cold periods in the Tag Team Division alongside fellow struggling star Ryback. Curtis Axel has potential but as Jim Ross once said, €œPotential won€™t always bring home the groceries.€ Axel is only going to coast so far on work ethic and his father€™s last name. A run with the Tag Team Championships and a strong mouthpiece will go a long way in helping Axel pull away from the pack.
