10 WWE Superstars Who Had Vince McMahon By The B*lls
9. Bret Hart
I bet Bret Hart, in 1996 anyway, loved the likes of Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Lex Luger, and Hulk Hogan. Why? Because those men's respective departures from WWF gave The Hitman fantastic leverage when thrashing out a new deal with the company.
Vince McMahon literally couldn't afford to let another one of his top stars leave New York for Ted Turner's billions. He did everything he could to keep his face of the New Generation.
Bret even received an offer from WCW, which only served to put the ball even deeper into his court, if you will. It is believed that offer was for around $9 million over three years. In return, Bret landed himself a multi-million deal from McMahon that would stretch to 20 years. Imagine how joyous of an experience those negotiations would have been for The Hitman...
Bret even managed to wrangle a modicum of creative control from Vince, albeit for the last 30 days of his contract. Rather than jobbing him out to devalue his stock as much as possible, Vince would have to come to an agreement with Bret on what would go down.
Even though Bret clearly had his boss by the b*lls during these negotiations, Vince would fight back during the build up to the Montréal Screwjob - he ensured that Bret wouldn't honour the most talent-friendly contract he had ever handed out.
