2. Booker T & Goldust

Longtime WWE fans will have noticed something similar about Goldust's attempts to start a team with R-Truth in 2016. Many moons ago, the face-painted buffoon was trying to convince Booker T that he was the ideal partner. Way back in 2002, Booker eventually relented and the rest - as they say - is history.

Comedy was the linchpin of the tag-team, and there's a reason backstage segments involving the pair rack up video views on YouTube. Booker played the straight man to Goldust's wacky shenanigans, always getting the duo into hilarious scrapes and jams that left the former WCW World Champion scratching his head in disbelief.

Like a wrestling version of Laurel and Hardy, Booker T and Goldust were an underdog tag-team story that captured everyone's collective imagination. Booker had previously been an nWo member, but found a friend in Goldust upon being unceremoniously dumped by the heel faction.
