10 WWE Tag-Teams That Shouldn't Have Worked (But Did)

3. Kane & X-Pac

The Kane and X-Pac pairing reeked of randomness, it was as though management had pulled two entirely unplanned names from a hat, choosing to just roll with the happenstance. In early-1999, The Undertaker's brother and a rebellious D-Generation X member most famous for sticking his crotch in the face of opponents formed a bond.

Kane and X-Pac couldn't have looked any more different, not only did they have different colour schemes, but the latter was substantially smaller than his 'Big Red Machine' buddy. Yet, despite all of these contrasts, Kane and X-Pac were booked to win the WWF Tag-Team Titles more than once, and were very much over with the core audience.

There was a heartfelt quality to the story explaining why they had come together, X-Pac even helped Kane utter his first words (those being DX's legendary catchphrase, 'Suck It'). Eventually, Tori would be the one to come between them, and X-Pac turned heel on his tag partner, but not before they had become a regular team.

On paper, Kane and X-Pac had no right to work out as they did, but Sean Walkman maintains to this day that he loved working with the bigger man.
