10 WWE WrestleMania 35 Card Predictions After SummerSlam 2018
5. Sasha Banks Vs. Bayley
WrestleMania 35 is far too late to resolve the Bayley/Sasha Banks saga. Far too late.
They should've had a big singles clash on this year's show, let alone in 2019, but WWE have already stretched it out way beyond its natural lifespan. At the very least, another few months are guaranteed now that they're united as The Boss & Hug Connection.
The current situation doesn't feel like the end. With no women's tag titles to fight for, there's no real purpose for Sasha and Bayley outside of random bouts with The Riott Squad. Granted, the championship situation could conceivably change before WrestleMania, but the duo's union is likely just another step in their complicated relationship.
Shooting for 'Mania would at least give WWE plenty of time to plot and execute a memorable feud, steering away from the goofy comedic tone that permeated their counselling phase. This should be a bitter, heated war, not something played for laughs. The company must adjust the tone accordingly to ensure that Bayley and Sasha can soar to the same heights they did in Brooklyn three years ago, but the match quality should be exemplary.
