10 Young WWE Stars With WrestleMania Main Event Potential
10. Odyssey Jones
At first glance, Odyssey Jones’ potential for superstardom can be solely linked to his sheer size. Jones is a big man, a hoss wrestler who possesses the frame and presence Vince McMahon dreams about every single night.
However, there is more to this character than what meets the eye.
At 6 ft 3 tall, and weighing a frightening 405 pounds, Jones moves around the ring like a cruiserweight. This makes it unsurprising that he made his televised debut earlier this year not on NXT, but on 205 Live, defeating Grayson Waller.
His style which crosses raw power and agility allows him to stand out from the pack, along with his bright and colourful chequered singlet attire.
The former Division 1 college football standout has also previously used Mark Henry’s finishing move the World Strongest Slam to end matches, which isn’t the only correlation he shares with the now AEW commentator. Jones is a strongman through and through, setting a Performance Center deadlift record of 800 pounds in 2019, so it would make sense if WWE has high hopes for Odyssey to be the second coming of Mark Henry.
Like most young WWE creations, there is a period of greenness and Odyssey is currently in that stage now, but if the company persist with the loveable babyface, then he could very possibly become a main roster beast with an extremely high ceiling.
