11 Burning Questions For WWE Raw (April 11th)
3. Will Roman Continue To Show Smug Side?
If you missed it last week, Roman Reigns gave a glimpse of a world champion who isn’t interested in trying to win over the fans who boo him. Rather than trying to play to them too much, Reigns noted that he wasn’t a good guy or a bad guy, but “the guy.”
Corny catchphrase (that won’t catch on) aside, Roman also gave small glimpses into a smugness he hasn’t really shown before. He looked dismissively at potential challengers like Sami Zayn when they entered the ring. Rather than trying to win over fans, Reigns took solace in the fact that he vanquished Triple H and was the champ.
Now, that necessarily won’t make him a bigger star and result in critical fans buying into him, but it’s more than we’ve gotten for the past several months from Roman. It will be interesting to see if this was a one-off thing or if he continues to show more of a smug side going forward.
