2. Turning On Big E

New Day’s last truly great moment also coincided with the beginning of their downfall as an act.

In December 2024, New Day celebrated their 10th anniversary as a group, but Kofi and Xavier were seemingly on their last legs as a duo and preparing to call it quits. That’s when Big E returned and pledged to come back as their manager. Rather than welcome the news, Kingston and Woods took turns verbally thrashing E, accusing him of using his broken neck as an excuse for abandoning them, noting that other wrestlers had come back from broken necks sooner than E had. They called him selfish, choosing a ”desk job” over the New Day.

Fans rained down boos on the duo for the first time in nearly 9 years as they effectively kicked E out of the group, pledging that it was just the 2 of them going forward.
