The Rock had an unbelievable 2024. Once WWE fans correctly nixed the idea of him leapfrogging Cody Rhodes to take his spot in the main event of WrestleMania 40 against Roman Reigns, everything he delivered was solid gold. His social media promos, the press conference in Las Vegas, and everything up to and including WrestleMania 40 led to one of the strongest runs in the career of one of the most successful pro wrestlers of all time.

Quite how they managed to tank this so spectacularly in 2025 is unfathomable. After forcing Cody Rhodes's mother to see her son's blood on his leather training belt and doing everything he could to ruin the fairytale ending to his story, the next time we saw Dwayne was delivering a toast to him on the company's first Monday Night Raw on Netflix.

The subsequent blathering promos were the antithesis of what we've come to expect from The Great One. His explanation of why he "wasn't needed" at WrestleMania 41 when he was the catalyst for WWE's biggest and most controversial heel turn of all time with John Cena just a few months earlier was nonsensical to the point of being insulting. The Rock can always turn things around, but his stock has never been lower with fans than it is in 2025.
