4. Kofi Kingston (c) Vs. Randy Orton

Kofi Kingston's WWE Championship run has simply not been all that entertaining.

The New Day man still has all of the dazzling, crowd-pleasing offence that kept him relevant for the full duration of the 11 years he had to wait to get an opportunity like this, and still has it in him to talk a great game, but this was the latest in a string of disappointingly dull defences.

They worked hard enough, and this was definitely better than their SummerSlam snoozer, but would robust professionals like Kingston and Randy Orton really want to be damned with such faint praise?

WWE pay-per-views are almost always great now, but tend to suffer at least one match in the middle that kills the crowd somewhat. This came later than some of the previous efforts, but still managed to stifle some of the joy in the arena after the rest of the show had zipped along at a remarkable pace.

At WrestleMania, there wasn't a dry eye in Metlife Stadium as Kofi rose the title high above his head. Thanks to this (and the first go at it last month) with The Viper, the Clash Of Champions crowd seemed simply bored to tears.
