12 WWE Clash Of Champions 2019 Impulse Reactions
3. Roman Reigns Vs. Erick Rowan
Dynamic and dedicated, Roman Reigns brings an energy to these types of matches few other actual main eventers have ever harnessed, and it didn't half help Erick Rowan as the pair assembled the latter's best ever singles match.
Still skewed by the rather silly motivations that underpinned this clash in the first place, Rowan's thirst for damage in this setting didn't really play to the murderous intent he'd apparently shown earlier in the storyline until he attempted to use a jib on 'The Big Dog'.
Reigns battling back with another stage prop allowed him to return Rowan's fire, setting up what should have been a match-winning spear down the ramp until he was subdued with an almighty boot from Luke Harper, of all f*cking people.
Thought to be frozen out of the company until he could escape it, Harper's return was immaculately timed and shot by WWE's crack production crew. Without time to truly let the shock sink in, Roman's subsequent bludgeoning by the former "Brothers" was greeted by an extended shock-pop. Fewer noises could have provided a better soundtrack for the shocking three-count. No Daniel Bryan, no swerve, but certainly another new twist as this odd, undulating angle continues.
