12 WWE Stars Become Free Agents (WWE News)
12 former WWE stars are about to hit free agency.
Get ready for a potentially hectic few weeks, as a whole host of now-former WWE stars are set to become free agents.
As highlighted in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bo Dallas, Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, Kairi Sane, Santos Escobar, Zoey Stark, and the Motor City Machine Guns are all set to become free agents as of midnight tonight. In the case of the Machine Guns, next week's AEW Dynamite interestingly takes place from Detroit's Masonic Temple Theater, with Detroit famously known as the Motor City, so...
On top of that, the New Day duo of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods will become free agents in the first week of August - the tandem landing in AEW described as a "foregone conclusion" - and then there's the small matter of Sheamus, who it's believed will become a free agent on October 1st.
Elsewhere, in other post-WrestleMania 42 releases, Kay Lee Ray, fka Alba Fyre, has already been back at it, competing for the likes of EVE and RevPro. This was because the Scot's WWE exit was a case of her contract being allowed to expire, rather than her being outright released and having to serve the subsequent non-compete period. There's also Apollo Crews/Uhaa Nation, who debuted for TNA at Slammiversary last month. In that instance, the former Intercontinental Champion was either allowed to start with TNA early, or he may have possibly had a more NXT-esque deal that had a shorter non-compete period than the standard 90 days.
Either way, there are a lot of incredibly talented people about to enter the free agency market.
