10. Ultimate Warrior€™s Surprise Return

At one point in time, it can be argued that Ultimate Warrior was the most popular professional wrestler on the planet. Warrior did what no man could do €“ he beat the legendary, undefeatable Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania 6 and took his WWF Title. But by the end of 1991, Warrior would leave the World Wrestling Federation. As has been well documented over the years, Warrior and Vince€™s organisation were on far from the best of terms. When Wrestlemania 8 came to a close, with Hulk Hogan being beaten down by Sid Justice and Papa Shango, the sudden thud of a familiar tune started to fill Indianapolis€™ Hoosier Dome. It was the Ultimate Warrior, and here he came in all his face-painted, frenetic glory, speeding down to ringside to help The Hulkster. This moment was one of the greatest returns and biggest surprises in wrestling history, with the fans in attendance, not to mention those watching it at home, absolutely losing their mind with excitement at the return of one of the most popular performers the business has ever seen. Sadly, Warrior€™s issues with the WWF would again rear their head and he would depart the company once more later in the year. During that return run he would still prove as popular with the fans as he€™d ever been, but the noise during his Wrestlemania 8 return is up there with the best reactions ever heard from a wrestling crowd.
