13 Most Emotional WrestleMania Moments

7. Mr. Wrestlemania, Rest In Peace

Shawn Michaels is one of the greatest performers that the wrestling industry has even seen. To a large number of fans, HBK is the greatest of all time. One of the things that made Michaels so popular amongst fans and peers is he had that rare ability to step in the ring with anybody and make them look good. Everybody could have a great match with Bret Hart or Chris Jericho, but Shawn excelled in getting a good match out of a Chris Masters or a Virgil. Then when it came to Wrestlemania, the Heartbreak Kid would only further up the ante. Having retired Ric Flair at Wrestlemania 24, it would be Shawn€™s time to say farewell once Wrestlemania 26 was over with. With Michaels having come so close to ending The Undertaker€™s streak at Wrestlemania 25, HBK wanted another shot at The Deadman at Wrestlemania 26. €˜Taker accepted based on the condition that Shawn€™s career was on the line. And so it would go, Shawn Michaels would lose the match and his career in what is seen by many as the single greatest match in wrestling history. The career of one of the greatest of all time came to a close at the Showcase of the Immortals in arguably the greatest match of all time. Not a bad way to go out. It was an emotional night, an emotional match, and an emotional farewell for the legendary Heartbreak Kid.
