12. Uncle Elmer & Joyce Stazko

You’ll be forgiven if you have no idea who these people are.

Uncle Elmer was a large hillbilly in WWF in the mid-80s (Vince McMahon has always had a thing for hillbillies, apparently), part of a group that included the more popular Hillbilly Jim (see? A stable of hillbillies!).

Saturday Night’s Main Event was just getting started out on late night NBC and to give it a hook, WWF announced a wedding between Uncle Elmer and his real-life girlfriend Joyce Stazko. Unlike all of the other weddings on this list, this was a real wedding, in that the participants were actually married during the televised ceremony.

Of course, things didn’t go completely as planned, as Jesse “The Body” Ventura mocked them on commentary, and Rowdy Roddy Piper interrupting. However, the wedding went through, and the couple remained married until Elmer passed away in 1992.
