13. The Stinger Has No Confidence In Mongo

Steve McMichael wasn€™t called Mongo because he was running a Flash Gordon gimmick. He had a history of running right over guys, whether as a part of the NFL or in his second career as a pro wrestler. This gloriously hamfisted moment took place during a tag match between the Four Horsemen and Sting, the Giant and Randy Savage €“ no one€™s exactly sure of the date or place, but given Sting€™s look and when McMichaels debuted, and given the mention of the infamous Bash At The Beach pay-per-view, it would have been between July and September 1996. It€™s notable here that Sting appears in the clip to be legitimately trying to hold onto the ropes for dear life€ we€™re not sure that he trusted the green-as-grass Mongo to take care of him, and with good reason, as you€™ll see.Mongo€™s fellow Horseman Arn Anderson appears to be struggling to contain laughter, while Chris Benoit simply looks resigned as he tags in. Incredibly, McMichaels would remain a member of the legendary Four Horsemen until Ric Flair disbanded this line-up, well over a year.
