12. Their First Match - Unforgiven 2002

It would take another couple of months before Lesnar and Undertaker would go at it one-on-one in a match. Now both the exclusive property of Smackdown, Lesnar was riding high as the then-youngest WWE Champion in history following his victory over The Rock at SummerSlam while 'Taker won a tournament to be crowned number one contender. The two fought in the main event of Unforgiven, having a solid-but-unspectacular match that was marred by ref bumps and outside interference. In the end, referee Brian Hebner disqualified both men and the match was called a no contest. The original plan had been for Matt Hardy to cost Undertaker the match, but the veteran nixed that idea and this was done instead. It didn't endear 'Taker any to the Internet Wrestling Community, who already resented him for his past refusal to put over up-and-coming stars. Even worse, 'Taker got the better of Lesnar in the post-match brawl, throwing him head-first through the PPV stage set. It did lead to a truly epic match, however...
