And so the feud chugged on, with Lesnar getting Undertaker's family involved and (kayfabe) breaking 'Taker's hand. Lesnar clearly had the psychological and physical edge going into Hell in a Cell at No Mercy, but the Demon of Death Valley couldn't be written off, since this was one of his speciality matches. What a match it was, with two absolute war horses going at it with reckless abandon. Lesnar targeted the Undertaker's hand. Undertaker tried every big move in his arsenal to put the young Lesnar down. Everyone, including Paul Heyman, bled. In the end, Lesnar managed to hit an F5 and left the Cell still WWE Champion. Credit to Undertaker for doing the right thing and putting Lesnar over strong. This match really helped solidify Lesnar as a genuine headliner, as some weren't convinced even after his demolition job of Hulk Hogan and clean win over The Rock.
