Theres no questioning that Hulk Hogan is one of the most popular wrestlers of all time; his infectious patriotism is what increased WWEs stock back in the 80s, and ultimately led to the company becoming the global phenomenon it is today. Hogans match with André the Giant at WrestleMania III is still looked back upon as one of the most iconic moments in WWE history, and some of the best storytelling the company had to offer back in the day. Months prior to the event, André and Hogan were friends, but jealousy of Hogans popularity would get the better of the French giant, and soon he would betray his friend, ripping his shirt and crucifix off in one of the most memorable moments on Pipers Pit. Hogan was quite obviously the underdog, not only due to the size difference between the two men, but because André was carrying an undefeated streak of 15 years long. In the end, after multiple failed attempts to lift the big man off his feet and slam him down to the mat, Hogan would muster up the strength to deliver an enormous bodyslam, before delivering his signature legdrop, to retain the WWE Championship and break André's decade-and-a-half-long undefeated record.
