The Rated R Superstar may have had his career cut short due to neck injuries, but his time spent in a wrestling ring is more than worthy of his spot in the WWE Hall of Fame. He played each of his characters perfectly, be it a goofball as part of E&C, an extreme competitor in TLC matches, or a brash heel during the Ruthless Aggression Era. He was supremely gifted at suspending disbelief inside a WWE ring, and one great example of this came from his Hardcore Match with Mick Foley at WrestleMania 22. Edge had a vendetta against Foley, after The Hardcore Legend special refereed the match where Edge lost the WWE Championship to John Cena. He blamed Foley for single-handedly screwing him out of the WWE Championship, and ordered a match between the two. When Foley accepted on his terms - a Hardcore Match - many believed Edge had bitten off more than he could chew, but they were all surprised by his performance. Edge was incensed and you could see it in his eyes from the moment he walked into the arena with Lita in tow. The baseball bat itself told you Edge was ready for a fight, and thats exactly what he got. Edge took a beating, including plenty of barbed wire and a thousand thumbtacks to boot, but would go on to spear Foley through a flaming table in one of WrestleManias most memorable moments. It was an incredible story of vengeance, and two men with everything to prove, to back Edges career up as one of the greatest of all time.
