15 New Directions For WWE After WrestleMania 42

15. IShowSpeed = Unlikely Babyface

WWE kept things fairly straightforward for IShowSpeed to kick off Saturday. He wasn't called on to do a whole hell of a lot, but Speed will be pleased with his evening's work. The streamer will also be delighted that his big viral spot with Logan Paul (a dive spot through the announce desk) went off without a hitch.

Come the end, Speed accidentally shoved Paul into Jey Uso on the apron, then collided with Austin Theory in-ring. The Vision delivered a beatdown post-match before The Usos and LA Knight saved the day before the YouTubers got their very own WrestleMania moment to blow up TikTok and whatever apps they like.

One can see Speed returning to WWE for a match vs. Logan. Again, he wasn’t asked to do too much during the 6-man, but that was smart. Imagine IShowSpeed became the next coming of Paul?! It's unlikely, but stranger things have happened, and he might've caught the wrestling bug after the weekend's festivities.

A lot of folks obviously find streamers/influencers annoying by default, but there's something likeable and energetic about Speed. He could work as a sympathetic underdog who wants to show the respect Paul's character outwardly lacks towards his peers. Of course, that's pure story - LP has shown a ton of respect to wrestling by knuckling down and working so hard to get good.

WWE will be interested in the bonus eyeballs that come from booking Paul vs. Speed in a singles setting, and there's no reason to suspect that Logan isn't savvy enough to guide his counterpart through something like that.
