This one has some nasty holdups, specifically long-standing heat between McMahon and Bill Eadie (Ax) over the rights to the Demolition gimmick. Otherwise, two living wrestlers that reigned three times as Tag Team champions (once for a record sixteen months) would be included in the Hall for sure. Legal issues aside, the Demolition aura managed to outgrow its apparent original intention as a Road Warriors parody or knockoff, and Ax and Smash got over for their realistic brawling, and menacing promo work. For something that could have been dismissed as a mere imitation, Demolition found sturdy footing. It would be a shame if Eadie's pursuit of restitution would bar Demolition from a living tribute like the Hall of Fame. In their day, few tag teams had the marketability and popularity as the face-painted baddies did.
