17 Things Only 90s UK Wrestling Fans Will Understand

7. Who Cares Who's In The Main Event!?

Back in the 1990's, the WWF only came to the UK once per year, if that, and the tours weren't quite as extensive as they are now. Wrestling fans often complain that the episodes of Raw or Smackdown taking place in the UK aren't quite up to scratch with what's presented in the US, but try being a fan during the 90's! For example, in 1993, the WWF hit the UK for the UK Rampage tour, highlighted by a show at the Sheffield Arena. In the main event, Lex Luger beat Jim Duggan by disqualification, in a match clocking in at just over 7 minutes. In fairness, fans didn't care who was on show, it was all about getting the chance to go and see what you could previously only watch on TV, live. The excitement was palpable.
