It felt like Dakota Kai was finally building some momentum as an NXT/NXT UK up-and-comer towards the end of 2018, but the injury bug is a cruel mistress, and she tore her ACL.

The affable New Zealander underwent surgery in January. Sadly, her injury is apparently a lot worse than was initially though, meaning that her absence may exceed the six months typically predicted for such injuries.

Expected return: Late summer 2019.
