The Iron Sheik actually began wrestling under that name in the NWA, but his greatest success came in WWE, where he became World Champion. Though he's had several runs with WWE over the years, he returned to the NWA in 1989. He failed to achieve the same success down south, and though he stuck around for a couple of years, his most high-profile match was a stymied challenge at Sting's TV Title. He would soon return to WWE as Colonel Mustafa.
