3 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (12 June - Results & Review)

3. Everyone Said A Whole Load Of Nothing

Trick Williams, Carmelo Hayes and Ricky Saints are clearly heading into Triple Threat territory. Anyone who watches SmackDown regularly already knew that, so their in-ring bickering on Friday was wasted time and said nothing new. Triple H needs to get a move on with his champions sometimes, and Trick is proof of that. They say the same stuff over and over again far too often.

This week's show should’ve seen Melo and Saints split the difference and thrash out who’s challenging Williams. Instead, they acted like 2 kids arguing and Trick’s appearance felt like an afterthought as a result. Even he seemed to pick up on that lack of energy when moaning about losing out on King Of The Ring, and it kinda sucks that Williams is being booked to seem bored of Hayes and Ricky already.

Where's the passion in all of this? It's non-existent. Previously, this simmering Triple Threat angle has provided highlights on the blue brand (Melo vs. Saints was tasty as they come last week), but Friday in Providence was akin to treading water when there's a whole pool of the stuff in front of you. Attention, creative: If you don't have anything worthwhile for workers to do, then don't put them on the show.

Simple as that.

It can even be harmful to certain acts if they stammer their way through some crap material and leave without giving the live crowd anything to chew on. That was the case for all 3 men in this skit. It was a waste of precious TV minutes, and exactly the kind of thing they'll have to delete from formats when SmackDown returns to 2 hours.
