In the United States, Sunday Night’s Main Event aired on the Peacock app, the former home to WWE PLEs before the ESPN deal was consummated.

Unlike the network television version of SNME, this edition did not throw to commercials mid-match, which made it feel more like a PLE than the television special it always has been. However, that didn’t stop WWE from airing a litany of commercials between matches. It felt like a solid five minutes of one ad after another after another, just to come back to another advert for WWE Shop.

They even kicked off the show with a mini-commercial built into The Vision’s arrival, with Austin Theory wearing an Arby’s T-shirt and Maxxine Dupri wearing one that said, “Hot girls eat Arby’s.” Theory plugged their steak nuggets, declaring them “juicy and tender, just like [Maxxine].”

And then there was Bron Breakker, entering the arena for his match to determine who will lead WWE into the future.

Whatever. It’s just the way things are now, but that doesn’t mean that the sheer volume of commercials and in-show advertisements shouldn’t be pointed out periodically.
