4 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Sept 28)
3. Fool's Gold?
That it took a Rampage match graphic announcement raced through by Excalibur to connect two dreadful Dynamite segments is either a slight on the production of the backstage bits or a creeping exasperation with the drabbest elements of the undercard.
Or both?
Either way, a Rampage three-way for The Acclaimed's newly-won Tag Team Championships came about thanks to an open challenge tossed out by the new titleholders in a weak toasting of their tremendous achievement. Keith Lee popping up to highlight the unfinished business was encouraging, but little else was. Somewhere else in the building, Andrade continued to broker peace/a deal between The Butcher & The Blade and Private Party or whatever f*ck it is for the five thousandth week in a row, before one recruitment angle made way for another as Matt Hardy slithered back into the latters' lives.
Digs at the opposition for the recent suggestions of tapping up? An earnest attempt to get some over the lower totem pole guys over again? Making do in light of real life circumstances? Unknown, but scraped off the bottom of an ideas bin all the same.
