An odd one to go out on perhaps, but it summed up the confusing state of WrestleMania XXVII that an abridged celebrity-centred battle was oddly satisfying amidst a slew of high profile disappointments.

Trish Stratus and babyface partner John Morrison weren't the best of buddies ahead of the battle IRL, thanks to Morrison's partially-reasoned protestations about Jersey Shore's Snooki taking a place that may have previously been reserved for Melina or another main roster regular.

But the pint-sized sesh-merchant delivered everything required of her well, whilst Stratus and Lay-Cool brought pro wrestling star-power to the mad-bumping midcarders mini-match between Morrison and Dolph Ziggler. A lesson in well-deployed discipline, the whole thing was earnestly enjoyable and never once outstayed its welcome.
