In terms of an in-ring appearance, new Women's Champ, Bayley, was sadly absent from our screens last night, but she did make a fleeting appearance in a pre-taped vignette. And boy was it cute. Regular watchers of NXT would recognise Izzy, the tiny girl who often appears on the front row in the audience at NXT tapings, dressed like a mini-Bayley. The Doctor of Huganomics would frequent hug Izzy after her match and the whole thing was very sweet indeed. Last night, WWE took it to diabetes-inducing levels of sweetness. A brief vignette aired showing Izzy losing her mind at home when Bayley won the Women's Championship at TakeOver Brooklyn and, to reward the tot's loyalty, the company gave her a guided tour of the performance centre, allowing her to meet her hero and do preposterously nice things like share an entrance or high five her replica belt against Bayley's real one. Often the WWE can appear disingenuous in its philanthropy and their brand-centric generosity can ring false, but sometimes they present a moment of giving that's genuinely moving. Last night was one of those moments.
