If you're unfamiliar with either Tomasso Ciampa or Johnny Gargano, don't be ashamed, be excited. Both men are indy veterans, cutting their teeth in promotions like Dragons Gate USA, Evolve and Ring Of Honour. Their performance last night proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that both men know their way around a ring. https://youtu.be/_-CpN6UUIk0 They made a resounding impact with their offence, Ciampa serving Tyler Breeze one of the most vicious slaps ever seen in a WWE ring and Gargano hitting stiff kicks and a beautiful spear through the ring ropes. Their finisher is a little weak (it's more of an ornate pin than an impact move) but in knocking off two established stars in Breeze and Dempsey, NXT are sending fans a clear message: Prepare yourself for Ciampa and Gargano. Sidetone: It's not really relevant to last night but it's worth mentioning that both men have appeared in WWE programming before. In 2005, Ciampa portrayed one of Muhammad Hassan's attorneys, reading a statement before being attacked by The Undertaker, and in 2007 Gargano appeared on Smackdown, fighting against MVP as Cedrick Von Haussen, 'Champion of Lichtenstein'. Seriously.
