4 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE Smackdown (Apr 23)

1. Rusev Losing By Disqualification To Ryback Was Bad

Rusev did a promo along with Lana prior to his match talking about the Russian Chain Match that will take place at Extreme Rules. They promised pain for John Cena and said that Rusev would win, but most fans know better. Ryback faced Rusev this week. It was actually a pretty enjoyable big man match as they worked at a slow pace. It was okay because they used their power moves to tell a story and it was easy to follow along. It was a bad finish, though. We know that the rumored plan for Ryback is a feud with Bray Wyatt in the near future. That's probably why WWE wanted to protect Ryback by having him win a match by disqualification. If Rusev is going to lose on Sunday like most of us assume then it would have been better if he got the win. Maybe he could have got the win by cheating, but the DQ finish just didn't do a good job of making him look ready on Sunday. In the end, Rusev looked strong after he used the chain as a weapon, but they should have booked him to win the match too.
