7. Mandy Stacks The Odds Against Herself
Few would ever class Tuesday nights as the place where logic routinely goes to play. But even by 2.0's often ludicrous standards, Mandy Rose's declaration last night made about as much sense as a Von Wagner promo.
As Raquel Gonzalez stood victorious following a gruelling battle with Dakota Kai and demanding the title rematch that she felt she was owed following the latter's distraction in her eventual Championship defeat, Cora Jade would soon stroll to the ring. The rising youngster proceeded to throw her own name into the hat as the two allies made it known that nothing would stop them from prising that belt away from Toxic Attraction's leader.
Instead of having the pair collide over the chance to face Rose and maybe even booking an unwanted but acceptable dodgy finish to allow for a three-way at New Year's Evil, though, Rose quickly beamed herself into the CWC to declare that, yes, both challengers would get their wish in the same match on January 4. Just like that, Rose became the biggest babyface in the land, taking on all comers whilst she relaxed in her pool with her belt.
Now, you could argue that Toxic Attraction's sneak attack shortly after helped recover some of that villainous aura and weakened both challengers heading into the bout. But that still doesn't change the fact that a Rose who has spent weeks telling people they're not worthy has just rolled over and welcomed the unenviable challenge out of nowhere.
Come NYE, you can bet we're either getting a distraction-heavy dud or Rose is going to fall by her own dumb decision... both results will no doubt leave you with the wrong sort of New Year's hangover.
