5 Biggest Losers From WWE Extreme Rules 2019
5. Finn Bálor
The match between Finn Bálor and Shinsuke Nakamura was very much thrown together at the last minute. Rather than wait and build to SummerSlam, WWE opted to jump the gun and add it to Extreme Rules. To make matters even worse, the match was relegated to the pre-show and meant a clean loss for either man would not be a good look.
Finn Bálor was rather surprisingly the one to fall, losing the Intercontinental Championship which guarantees a foothold in the company standings. While a title change on the pre-show always leaves a bad taste in the mouth, there was still hope Finn might get involved in something on the main card. Audiences would have soon forgotten the loss if he interjected himself into The Club’s United States Championship match. Unfortunately, this didn’t happen leaving fans to contemplate what is next for The Extraordinary Man.
He could still align himself with The Club or simply continue feuding with Nakamura. However, there is a danger that Finn will simply be cast back out into the muddy open waters of the mid card.
