3. Doering Gets It Done

Your writer is always critical of Joe Doering's in-ring antics, citing him as a rather slow performer. It's a fair judgement, but there's no denying the aura around the guy. He's a superb worker, perfecting the running Crossbody better than anyone else ever has as Eddie Edwards found out. Joe just runs through his adversaries like they're nothing. It's tantalising stuff, really.

He pinned Eddie after countering a Boston Knee Party mid-run into a Revolution Bomb, making for a delightful sequence. Credit has to be given to Eddie, though, as well as Satoshi Kojima and Deaner. They worked their roles brilliantly to allow Doering to look like such a beast. Deaner was used to get Eddie and Satoshi over; he took the majority of the heat from them, including a brutal forearm from Eddie.

Violent By Design were always going to retain, however, there were a few brief moments where you believed new World Tag Team Champions were being crowned. This, again, goes down to the work ethic of the four involved to create such an atmosphere. VBD need a long title run to get themselves over to such a high standard. Matches like this go a long way in establishing such a thing.
