5. Jade Cargill Scores A Logical Win

Finally, some good.

Jade Cargill beat Alexa Bliss in a match which went heavy on the idea that Jade was overlooking Alexa because she’s too preoccupied with Charlotte Flair. That gave both women a solid enough story to work with, and they did well with it. There was complete pandemonium near the finish, then Cargill put Bliss away with Jaded.

Those were some nice, chaotic finishing spots. Everyone from Cargill and Bliss to Flair, Michin and B-FAB hit every mark they were supposed to, and this got the job done as decent build towards Jade vs. Charlotte come SummerSlam. Also, the brawl afterwards made Cargill look brutal - WWE went with Alexa's double jointed 'broken arm' sell, and it worked a treat.

Everything was logical, and that's lovely to report when yours truly has been rather harsh on Cargill's faction since it formed. Being honest, deservedly so, but you've got to call each segment or match on its own merits and the trio nailed things on Friday. They had the necessary menace to believably run straight through veterans like Flair and Bliss, and WWE deftly avoided having Jade eat a stupid loss before getting her heat back with the post-match attack.

Alexa can take losses like this one without shedding any credibility. She's akin to a female version of The Miz, and that speaks to how over she's been throughout her entire run in the promotion. In short, it's a compliment. Overall, this match did put some more importance on the upcoming SummerSlam clash, and that's all it needed to do.
