2. Please Just Move On
Lil Yachty is back by Trick’s side when he really shouldn’t be, and it looks like Williams is going for the US Title yet again despite losing his rematch on last week’s show. What was the bloody point in booking that in the first place then? They’re going with the, ‘…but Corbin’s cheated him twice’ idea, but Trick is only looking less and less by mixing it with Baron, and WWE badly need to get Yachty away from him.
The dude gives natural heel energy, and it isn’t cool to have him fighting Trick’s battles for him or cheating on his behalf during matches. Here, he was used as a distraction so Williams could hit the ring and get the upper hand on Baron. Again though, why? Everyone gets that they’re real-life friends away from the cameras and probably into it, but it’s an odd dynamic on TV and hasn't been working for the longest time.
WWE wouldn't need to wave goodbye to Yachty if they're keen on him, but he can't be hanging around a rising babyface who has a genuine connection building with the fanbase. There's too much of a disconnect when he's sneak attacking heels or cracking mirrors with his super-annoying, grating voice on the microphone.
Long story short, this is a backwards step for Trick when losing the US gold should've (in theory) been a sign that he was moving up the card. So much for those interactions with CM Punk then, huh? They've amounted to nothing. Clearly, there's time for something more there, but a third match vs. Corbin is overkill.
