5. Danhausen’s Army Builds

The Miz and Kit Wilson deserve some sort of bonus for how hard they’re leaning into this zombified thing. The way they stumbled to the ring (occasionally shouting various catchphrase), then got involved in the resultant match between Danhausen and Matt Cardona vs. Los Garza was good, clean fun. Miz, in particular, just continues to show how valuable and adaptable he is.

You've kinda got to feel sorry for Angel and Berto, but at least they made it onto TV in a match this week. Danhausen teaming with Cardona vs. Angel was more goofy fun and a lower card oddity that entertained the live crowd. Can’t say fairer than that. This sort of match will wear thin if it happens every week, but it worked on this occasion and it’s fine every so often.

It feeds the variety show sandbox feel of pro wrestling, and it isn't like WWE pretend Danhausen is some huge threat at the top of the cards or anything. He has his place on the show, and it's often early or in the middle of the pack. That's fine and dandy by this writer. He's getting good reactions from live crowds, is shifting a ton of merchandise, and he offers something different to programming.

Plus, Dan is building his own personal army and it's giving dudes like Miz, Wilson and even Cardona something to do. He might need to get to the point with that Frankenstein's monster reveal soon before people lose interest, but hold that thought. Y'know, unless it becomes one of those unsolved WWE mysteries.
