5 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE WrestleMania VIII
3. Last Rites
1992 wasn't Jake 'The Snake' Roberts' best year, and more's the pity considering just how incredible his 1991 heel turn had been for his creative direction if not his commercial appeal.
Roberts was looking to move into an office position as the year progressed, but when Vince McMahon pulled the rug out from under him, a move to WCW beckoned for the 1980s company icon. Even that went wrong for him before he even debuted down south, but him holding McMahon up for an immediate release before even going to the ring ensured that this burial wouldn't just be to serve the storyline.
It wasn't all as black and grey as Undertaker's gear - a Tombstone on the arena floor left Jake for dead, and did far more to cement 'The Deadman' himself as one of the company's next great babyface hopes.
