4. A Cup Of Coffee In The Big Time

It was only as El Matador and Shawn Michaels made their entrances that the size and scale of WrestleMania VIII truly made itself apparent.

The industry had experienced substantial financial decline over the prior two years and things weren't about to get any better for Vince McMahon in the near-future, but at least everything looked fine, eh?

Indianapolis' Hoosier Dome was a stunning setting, with Gorilla Monsoon's "hanging from the rafters" patter not even total hyperbole. A new neon entrance enhanced the aesthetic before it became the insecure badge of dishonour for the New Generation high school gym shows, whilst the domed room brought memories of WrestleMania III flooding back before they'd be trampled on by the end of the night.
