The Funks regrettably weren't long for WWE after WrestleMania 2, despite Vince McMahon finding Terry's heel fire years before he smoked Ric Flair in a legendary NWA angle for 'The Nature Boy's treasured title.

Junkyard Dog and Tito Santana were linked by their mutual disdain for Greg Valentine at WrestleMania I, and their union here made the most of the huge support both routinely galvanised from the crowds at the time.

That they lost was largely irrelevant - this was a valuable glimpse at some stars from an LA crowd that had been forced to stare at two shows on big screens before getting their own Hogan-led supercard.
