2. Ember Moon

Now missing for over a year due to an ankle injury, Ember Moon confirmed on follow-up episodes of the now-departed WWE Backstage that she wasn't sure exactly how long the rehab would take. This was categorically bad news but the lack of just how bad sort of made it worse.

Moon was and will hopefully again be a fabulous talent. Criminally kept as little more than a utility player on the main roster, she had the fire of her own contact lenses on NXT.

A sensational (and still underrated) feud with Asuka almost confirmed her as the only one in the brand's history that was ready for the 'Empress Of Tomorrow', but her title reign was strictly transitional once Shayna Baszler began to loom large over Full Sail.

Much of this is speculative and pending her recovery, but NXT experiencing its first Eclipse in two years would be a mutually satisfying payoff to a mystery angle desperately short on genuine intrigue.
