5 Wrestlers Who Could Be The Joker In AEW's Women's Casino Battle Royale
2. Deonna Purrazzo
Deonna Purrazzo is having an impeccable year that not enough people are acknowledging.
To summarise; she's essentially held the IMPACT Knockouts Title for a year, bar a three-week period last October to November, she and Jordynne Grace had IMPACT's inaugural women's Iron Man match which Deonna won, she lifted the AAA Reina de Reinas Title last month, she retired Jazz from IMPACT Wrestling over WrestleMania 37 weekend, and she's had consistently superlative performances opposite Rosemary, Thunder Rosa, Su Yung, Franky Money (when she was Taya Valkyrie), and more.
The 'Virtuosa' is on an unprecedented roll that nobody could have predicted when WWE cut her during Black Wednesday.
She will inevitably appear for All Elite Wrestling, though. The Forbidden Door is wide open, a door that Deonna has already stepped through. Purrazzo wrestled for both AAA and NWA throughout August, defending the Knockouts Title in both promotions against Faby Apache and Melina, respectively. At Slammiversary, she was part of a Forbidden Door angle, as the aforementioned Thunder Rosa - an AEW-contracted star - was unveiled as her mystery opponent.
Deonna could feasibly enter the Casino Battle Royale, and though she shouldn't win the thing, a staredown with Britt Baker following her Women's World Title match vs. Kris Statlander makes sense. Purrazzo vs. Baker is currently the Forbidden Door dream match, for lack of a better term. The title vs. title clash is going to happen.
