6. The Authority Dominates All

Stephanie McMahon and HHH were easily involved in more than half of the opening segments on Raw this year. They€™d close the show, they€™d take up many pointless, self serving and indulgent segments, they€™d belittle wrestler after wrestler without getting theirs. No one else on TV got to talk as much as they did and they aren€™t wrestlers! If you go to a house show, Hunter and Steph aren€™t going to be there. If you buy a WWE action figure for your kid, it€™s not going to be of those two. They ate up TV time, they buried talent, and all they did was portray evil authority figures in a wrestling trope that was played out at the end of Austin vs. McMahon. By the end of the year, they were off TV, but still a part of major storylines. The announcers and wrestlers couldn€™t stop talking about them even though they were gone! With ratings continuing to fall, management needs to come up with a different idea. Hey, how about this: Wrestlers finally being the main attractions of a wrestling program again!
