WWE may have overdone it this year with authority figures (see the previous slide), but at least HHH and Stephanie had babyfaces battling them. In TNA this year, we were left with a power struggle of MVP and Dixie Carter while both were cast as heels. As fans, why should we have cheered for either of them to succeed? It was actually refreshing when MVP first joined the company as an honest, babyface authority figure. Unfortunately, TNA couldnt help themselves, and wanted to copy WWE in their never-ending power struggle storylines. It was an absolute mess, and a huge waste of TV time. No one wanted to see Dixie Carter become an on-air figure and steal the spotlight from the younger wrestlers. Hulk Hogan just did that the past few years, but thats exactly what happened. She was also terrible in the role of evil boss. Acting is not her strong suit, although I guess running a successful business isnt either.
